Peter Malick is a music producer, songwriter, composer, guitarist and mix engineer.
Peter loves and lives music.
He’s been a guitar player since his early teens. Word has it he had to leave a late night jam session with Jefferson Airplane early because he had to get to school the next day. Peter did finish high school on time, but it was already after signing his first recording contract (with Vanguard as a member of Listening), meeting Jimi Hendrix, and making a blues album for Spivey Records which featured Otis Spann. Peter’s songwriting really began to take off in 1998 with the release of his first, self-penned, solo album, Wrong Side of My Life, followed by The Peter Malick Group featuring Norah Jones, which, although released in 2003, included songs written by Peter and recorded with Norah in 2000. Since 2005, after purchasing a commercial recording studio (the former Chessvolt Studios), Peter has been on a rigorously sharp learning curve in the arts of both recording and mixing music. From 2008 to 2011, with Luxury Wafers, he had the fun and challenging opportunity to record and mix hundreds of live sessions at his own and guest studios around the country. Peter is constantly honing his craft and buying more gear while adjusting on a regular basis to the demands of the changing terrain of the music business.
Currently, Peter is working mostly from his new Pie and Tart Shoppe Studio in Studio City.
He lives in LA with his wife, daughters and Meow Meow.
